Nestled in the heart of Virginia’s stunning October foliage, Camp Holiday Trails served as the perfect setting for their enchanting celebration. The couple blended cozy camp vibes, vibrant fall colors, and twinkling fairy lights into a day that was equal parts rustic coziness and upscale magical.
From the moment I arrived, I could tell this wedding was something special. Guests experienced a full camp experience, staying overnight in the venue’s charming cabins. The ceremony took place by the fire pit, surrounded by nature, and under a hand-built arbor that also served as their guest book. Sami and Tom exchanged their vows in a setting that felt both intimate and grand, framed by the fiery reds and golds of the season.
After the ceremony, everyone moved to the dining hall for dinner. They transformed the space into a cozy haven, using long tables adorned with seasonal florals, candles, and personal touches reflecting Sami and Tom’s personalities. Sami and Tom also added a nostalgic touch with their table numbers. Each table featured felt flags that paid homage to classic camp color wars. It was a small detail that tied the whole theme together, blending the coziness of camp with the elegance of a formal wedding. Every element of the day, from the décor to the timeline, felt like an extension of Sami and Tom’s personalities.
The evening transitioned into the barn for the reception. Hanging flags and decorations floated above the dance floor. One detail that had everyone talking was the “beer canoe.” Sami and Tom lined an actual canoe with trash bags, filled it with ice, and stocked it with drinks for their guests. I’ve seen many creative drink displays, but this was a first! It was a fun, memorable nod to the camp setting and had everyone laughing and snapping photos.
Their wedding was a perfect example of how to make a space your own. They embraced the venue’s rustic charm and added layers of warmth, whimsy, and romance. It was a day full of love, laughter, and a celebration of everything that makes Sami and Tom so special.
